Planned One-Hour Outage on Poland’s New MOS Immigration Portal May 7
Poland’s Office for Foreigners has warned users of its new Case Handling Module (MOS 2.0) that the platform could be unavailable on 7 May between 16:00 and 17:00 due to maintenance by the external internet-service provider. The bulletin, published in Polish, English, Ukrainian and Russian, stresses that the interruption will be brief and will not count as a statutory “IT failure” that would automatically extend filing deadlines. MOS 2.0—launched nationwide on 27 April—has replaced paper applications for virtually all residence-permit categories. Employers and assignees must now sign submissions with a qualified e-signature or Trusted Profile and upload scans of supporting documents. Since going live, the system has processed more than 18,000 applications, according to internal figures cited by officials.

In this context, organisations looking for additional support can turn to VisaHQ, whose specialists track MOS 2.0 outages and other procedural changes in real time. By pre-screening documents and scheduling uploads for the most stable windows, VisaHQ (https://www.visahq.com/poland/) helps HR teams avoid last-minute surprises and keeps assignees on track for uninterrupted legal stay.

The planned downtime is the first announced disruption since launch and serves as an early test of the portal’s contingency rules. HR managers handling near-expiry permits are advised either to submit before 15:30 or wait until the system stabilises after 17:00. The authority confirmed that timestamps generated before the session closes will remain valid even if payment of fees is completed later in the evening. Looking ahead, the Office for Foreigners said it will publish at least 48 hours’ notice of any future outages exceeding 60 minutes and will introduce an SMS-alert option by July to keep applicants informed in real time.
