  • Itinerary. A copy of round trip tickets or detailed itinerary for the duration of the trip. The applicant's name must be on itinerary.

  • Personal Letter. A personal letter from the applicant addressed to the Embassy of Papua New Guinea, explaining the purpose of the trip, dates of travel, cities to be visited, and place of accommodation. The letter must be written and signed personally by the visa applicant or their legal guardian. A tour company cannot provide the letter on the visa applicant's behalf.

  • Visa application form. For online orders, please download, print and sign Papua New Guinea visa application, prepared by our system under your account.

  • Original passport. The passport must be valid at least six months after the intended date of departure from the territory of Papua New Guinea and has at least two blank visa pages.

  • Passport-type photograph. Include a passport style photo, with a white background, taken within the last 6 months. You may also choose to upload a photo to your order for us to print. There is a surcharge associated with this service.

  • Itinerary. A reservation of the flight itinerary under the traveler's name. Must show flights entering and exiting Papua New Guinea.

  • Business Support Letter. A business letter from the sending company in the US. The letter should be printed on the company letterhead stationery, addressed to "The Consulate of Papua New Guinea, Visa Section", and signed by a senior manager. The business letter must adhere to the following guidelines:
    • Briefly introduce the applicant (please specify employment status/position held in the company by applicant).
    • State the nature of the business to be conducted (ie. business meetings, contract negotiations, etc.) and the names and addresses of companies to be contacted in Papua New Guinea.
    • Specify the Type and desired Validity of the visa (ie. a one year multiple entry business visa).
    • Guarantee of sufficient funds for travel.

The letter should be printed on company letterhead stationery, addressed to "The Consulate of Papua New Guinea, Visa Section", and signed by a senior manager. Papua New Guinea COVID-19 travel restrictions

  • Entry is partially open
    Passengers and airline crew are not allowed to enter.This does not apply to passengers with a State of Emergency (SOE) controller approval.
    Flights from Australia, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Nauru, Micronesia, Vanuatu, Cook Islands, Samoa, Palau, and Niue have resumed.
    Flights from India are banned.
    Prior to arrival requirements
    Valid passport. Valid national passport with at least 6 month remaining validity after the date of departure.
    Valid visa. Please see the instructions above if visa is needed and apply.
    Negative COVID-19 test prior to arrival within 7 days is required.
