In a bid to capture more premium business events, the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding with global exhibition giant Informa Markets on 27 May 2026. The partnership will launch “The Festival of Connoisseurs” (TFOC), a city-wide showcase of luxury sectors—from super-yachts and private jets to haute jewellery—using Hong Kong itself as a sprawling showroom. Under the deal, Informa will relocate or co-locate several of its flagship luxury shows to Hong Kong between 2026 and 2028, while HKTB will take road-shows to Monaco, Palm Beach and Dubai to cross-promote the city. Organisers expect the B2B2C format to draw high-net-worth travellers and corporate buyers, filling hotels mid-week and boosting average visitor spend. For mobility and relocation managers the headline is capacity: premium events notoriously strain visa counters and hotel blocks. HKTB says it is working with Immigration to ensure on-arrival support desks and express e-Channel enrolment for VIP delegates, mirroring arrangements used during the Global Financial Leaders’ Investment Summit.

For delegates needing to navigate visa paperwork, VisaHQ’s Hong Kong platform (https://www.visahq.com/hong-kong/) offers an end-to-end solution, from instant eligibility checks to expedited group filings. The service can liaise directly with corporate travel teams, coordinate courier pickups, and monitor application status in real time—reducing the administrative drag that often accompanies large-scale shows like TFOC.

Trade-show logistics firms see the agreement as a green light that Hong Kong’s border infrastructure—freshly upgraded with Terminal 2—can once again handle complex, multi-venue events. Crucially, the initiative aligns with government rhetoric positioning Hong Kong as a “dual gateway” linking mainland China’s luxury consumers with global brands.
