India Visa For Dutch Nationals

Dutch citizens are some of the most traveled nationals in the world, dating back centuries. And India is one of the top destinations for the Dutch, dating back to the business networks developed by Dutch businesses and sailors. Today, the trend continues as many Dutch citizens like to visit India for business or pleasure.

To visit India, you will need a visa issued by the Indian government through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs. About a decade ago, the only way to get a visa was by visiting the Indian embassy in Amsterdam or any of its consulates. However, that changed with the introduction of the electronic visa program in 2014 called the e-visa.

The e-Visa program has simplified the process and made it easier for Dutch nationals to apply for a visa in under 20 minutes using their smartphones or laptops.

The application process is done online; all you need to do is fill out the online visa application form, attach relevant documents, and submit it for approval. Fortunately for Dutch nationals, your country is among the list of 166 countries whose citizens can apply for an electronic India visa.

Types Of Online Visa For Dutch Nationals

Dutch citizens may apply for three major types of electronic Indian visas. We review them below.

E-visa for Tourism

The e-visa for tourism is one of the most popular visas many Dutch nationals apply for. This tourist visa is for those who wish to spend their vacation in India. E -visas carry different validity. There is the 1 month, 6 months, 1 year, and 5 years e-visa for tourism.

This Indian visa is a multiple entry visa that allows you to enter India anytime for as long as the visa is valid. Also called an electronic travel authority document, an e-visa for tourism allows you to stay in India for 30 days, 90 days, or 180 days depending on the validity of the visa.

Note: The Indian government suspended the Indian e tourist visa for tourism during the pandemic, but there are plans to reopen it soon. You may apply for it once restrictions are removed.

E-visa For Business

The second type of online visa is for business. If you have a conference or business meeting of any activity, you may apply for an e-visa for business. It is similar to the e-visa for tourism but with a slight difference.

As part of the documentation, you must provide a business card detailing your corporate/professional information. You will also need to attach the invitation letter sent to you by the business organization in India inviting you over. Business e-visas have 1 month – 1 year of validity.

E-Visa For Medical Treatment

Another e-visa is the one for medical treatment. If you wish to come to India for healthcare purposes, this is the online India visa to apply for. The e-visa for medical treatment is of two types; one for patients and the other for a family member or nurse who will offer support to the patient.
