For over 16 year olds:
• 200 cigarettes
• 50 cigars
• 250g of tobacco
• 1 Imperial pint of spirits
• Non-commercial amount of gifts and other items for personal use.
• Foreign currency

Prohibited

• Narcotics
• Pornography
• Counterfeit items
• Local currency (Tanzanian shilling)

Restricted

• Live animals – health certificate required along with complete and valid inoculations. Contact nearest embassy.
• Plants, foodstuff and seeds– health certificate required.
• Weaponry and ammunition – with permission only. Contact nearest embassy.
• Medication
• For video/ filming equipment, radios, tape recorders and musical instruments a bond may be placed to assure that the goods will be re-exported.
