State Department restarts trucker-visa processing with tougher CDL and English tests
The State Department has restarted visa processing for foreign truck drivers after an eight-month pause, but new rules require proof of English proficiency, a U.S.-recognised CDL and a documented safe-driving history. While the changes enhance safety oversight, they will extend processing times and may tighten an already scarce driver labour pool.
