Nationwide airline and ground-staff strikes disrupt 410 flights across Italy
Concurrent strikes by ITA Airways crews, Lufthansa pilots and airport handlers between 13 and 19 April caused at least 410 flight cancellations or long delays at Italy’s main airports. The disruption has prompted companies to divert travel away from Rome and Milan and triggered complex EU 261 compensation claims. Ongoing industrial unrest is expected to continue through late April, posing planning challenges for business travellers.
