Etihad posts new network timetable through 15 March, warns of fake refund scams
Etihad Airways has published a route-by-route timetable that runs until 15 March, giving much-needed visibility to companies rushing to re-route assignees and business travellers. The Abu Dhabi-based carrier is now accepting bookings on 25 destinations, including Paris, Frankfurt, New York and Seoul, with further additions contingent on daily security assessments. In its advisory, released at 05:38 on 12 March, Etihad stresses that passengers should “travel to the airport only if contacted directly” and reiterates that tickets issued on or before 28 February for travel up to 21 March may be changed once free of charge or refunded in full. The airline also highlights a growing wave of social-media scams in which fraudsters pose as Etihad staff and demand credit-card details to process fictitious refunds. Travellers are reminded that Etihad never asks for passwords or one-time codes outside its encrypted web portal. Etihad’s contact-centre teams remain under significant pressure, so the carrier is directing customers to self-service tools on etihad.com to check flight status, process refunds and update contact details.

Meanwhile, travellers scrambling to align their documents with the newly re-timed flights can lean on VisaHQ’s end-to-end visa and passport services. The platform’s UAE hub (https://www.visahq.com/united-arab-emirates/) lets corporate travel teams confirm entry rules, arrange expedited processing and receive real-time status alerts—particularly useful when itineraries change at short notice.

Travel managers are advised to download the latest schedule spreadsheet and cross-reference PNRs nightly until operations normalise. From a mobility perspective, the announcement is critical because Abu Dhabi serves as a key hub for oil-and-gas, defence and tech-sector assignees shuttling between North America, Europe and project sites in the Gulf. Firms with time-sensitive crew changes should still consider charter or ‘split’ routings via Muscat or Riyadh if seats on the limited Abu Dhabi services sell out.
