Cabinet Approves High-Speed Corridor Linking Delhi–Faridabad–Gurugram to Jewar Airport
In a complementary move to the aerodrome licence, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs late on 10 March cleared a ₹3,630.77-crore package to build a 31.42-kilometre hybrid-annuity corridor connecting South Delhi, Faridabad and Gurugram directly to Noida International Airport. The greenfield stretch will plug into the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway and the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, giving expatriates, cargo operators and business travellers a 45-minute surface link to the new airport. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will tender construction within the month, targeting opening synchronised with the airport’s Phase-II terminal in 2028. The road will feature dedicated electric-vehicle (EV) lanes, two multi-level logistics hubs and an immigration “landside satellite terminal” where airlines can issue boarding passes and collect checked baggage—in effect turning the corridor into an extended air-rail-road system.

VisaHQ’s corporate mobility specialists can further streamline the expatriate experience this corridor is designed to support. Whether it’s fast-tracking e-Business visas for engineers arriving at Delhi or future Noida International Airport, coordinating online FRRO registrations, or advising HR teams on compliant documentation, the India desk at VisaHQ (https://www.visahq.com/india/) offers an end-to-end digital workflow that dovetails neatly with the seamless travel and logistics ecosystem now taking shape.

Corporate mobility teams should flag that the corridor will introduce dynamic congestion pricing, akin to Singapore’s ERP, and RFID tags will be mandatory for all commercial vehicles over 3.5 tonnes. Project managers moving project cargo to NCR sites will need to budget for peak-hour tariffs or schedule night-time transits. Real-estate developers are already marketing “airport corridor” residential zones, a trend HR relocation departments should monitor for compliant lease formats. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has issued draft by-laws requiring landlords in the corridor to register tenant details with the local FRRO within 24 hours—tighter than the national 24-hour Form C window. Early compliance mechanisms will therefore be essential to avoid fines once expatriates begin occupying corridor housing.
