Embassy in Singapore opens registration for Bangkok-Warsaw rescue flight and reminds travellers of Thai entry rules
Poland’s embassy in Singapore issued an urgent notice on 7 March inviting citizens stuck in Thailand to register for a potential LOT Polish Airlines repatriation flight from Bangkok to Warsaw. The online form—accessible via a dedicated LOT link—will help the carrier and the foreign ministry gauge demand before confirming a departure as early as 11 March.

The circular also refreshes key Thai immigration requirements at a time when frantic travellers risk overlooking basics. Polish passport-holders may still enter visa-free for tourism stays of up to 60 days, but passports must be valid for at least six months and contain two blank pages. From 1 May 2025, all foreigners must pre-submit the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) within 72 hours of arrival—a rule that remains in force despite the current turmoil.

Polish nationals holding temporary passports are eligible, provided the document meets the six-month validity test; national ID cards are not accepted. The embassy warns that Thai authorities will refuse boarding to anyone with damaged or over-filled passports, so mobility managers should double-check documents before booking the repatriation service.

To reduce last-minute compliance headaches, Polish travellers can leverage VisaHQ’s online platform, which consolidates the latest Thai entry rules, passport validity checks, and forthcoming TDAC registration assistance. The service—accessible at https://www.visahq.com/poland/—also supports corporate travel managers with bulk applications and status alerts, making it easier to coordinate departures on short notice.

For HR departments, the development underscores the need for real-time traveller tracking and country-specific document checklists—even inside the Schengen Area, outbound compliance can trip up emergency movements. Companies should brief staff that registering does not guarantee a seat; LOT will contact applicants individually to finalise ticket purchase once the flight is green-lit. In parallel, firms should verify travel-insurance clauses covering “civil unrest” and “government-organised evacuation,” which often differ from standard trip-cancellation terms.

Should demand outstrip supply, the foreign ministry says it may negotiate shared charters with other EU partners. Employers with larger groups are advised to liaise with the Polish Investment & Trade Agency’s regional office in Bangkok, which is collating corporate evacuation needs.
