LOT re-opens Warsaw–Larnaca route, boosting winter connectivity to Cyprus

LOT re-opens Warsaw–Larnaca route, boosting winter connectivity to Cyprus
LOT Polish Airlines relaunched its Warsaw–Larnaca service on 9 February 2026, marking the carrier’s return to Cyprus for the winter season. The four-times-weekly connection departs Warsaw Chopin Airport at 10:40 and lands in Larnaca three and a half hours later, with Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday frequencies. From summer 2026, flights will run six times per week.

The restart is strategically important for Poland’s booming outbound leisure and near-shore services sectors. Cyprus was Poland’s third-largest Mediterranean market in 2025, and the island has become an attractive base for IT contractors and shared-services staff who prefer mild winters and English-speaking offices. The new timetable also creates one-stop links to Tel Aviv and Beirut via the Cypriot hub.

For inbound travellers, morning arrivals in Larnaca allow same-day onward connections or afternoon client meetings, while the evening return supports weekend commuting patterns popular with project managers rotating between Warsaw, Limassol and Nicosia. Promotional fares start at PLN 799 return in economy.

LOT executives said the decision was driven by a 22 % year-on-year increase in Polish passenger numbers to Cyprus and improved slot availability at both airports. The route enjoys support from Hermes Airports, which is subsidising marketing and offering discounted landing fees for the first six months.

Mobility coordinators should note that Cyprus remains outside the Schengen Area; therefore, non-EU assignees will require a double-entry Schengen visa to avoid reapplication when they return to Poland. Seasonal demand is strong around Orthodox Easter (17–20 April 2026); advance booking is advised.
