SWISS deploys new Airbus A350s on Zurich–Seoul route from March 2026

SWISS deploys new Airbus A350s on Zurich–Seoul route from March 2026
Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) will put its brand-new Airbus A350-900 fleet on the Zurich–Seoul Incheon route when the summer timetable starts on 29 March 2026. The aircraft – the first in the carrier’s long-haul network to feature the ‘SWISS Senses’ cabin – will replace older Airbus A340s, raising both capacity and environmental performance.

According to SWISS, the A350 burns around 25 percent less fuel and emits correspondingly less CO₂ than the four-engine jets it replaces, a statistic that will resonate with sustainability officers at multi-nationals basing regional teams in Switzerland or South Korea. The airline also trumpets larger cargo-hold space, a benefit for companies shipping time-sensitive high-value goods such as pharmaceuticals and precision instruments between the two export-oriented economies.

For corporate travellers flying this rejuvenated route, securing the correct travel documents can be just as important as locking in the best fare. VisaHQ’s streamlined portal (https://www.visahq.com/switzerland/) simplifies visa applications for both Swiss executives heading to Korea and Korean passengers visiting Switzerland, providing up-to-date entry requirements, digital forms and optional courier services so that visa compliance never delays take-off.

Business-class passengers will see fully enclosed suites, wireless charging and Bluetooth audio; in premium economy the seat pitch rises to 40 inches. SWISS has hinted that the ‘Senses’ design – muted alpine tones, textured walls and indirect lighting – will be progressively rolled out to other long-haul cabins as more A350s join the fleet.

From a mobility-management perspective, the daily non-stop remains scheduled in a late-evening eastbound and lunchtime westbound pattern, giving connecting options to both European feeds and onward Asian destinations served by Star Alliance partner Asiana. Ticket sales open later this week, and early-booking corporate deals are expected to be released through global distribution systems (GDS) in February.

With demand for travel to East Asia rebounding strongly – Zurich Airport handled 18 percent more Asia-bound passengers in 2025 – travel managers should review carbon-reporting baselines and, where possible, swap travellers from higher-emitting routings via the Gulf to the new non-stop. The A350 launch also offers a test case for Swiss aviation’s 2050 net-zero roadmap, which foresees fleet modernisation as a key plank alongside sustainable aviation fuel quotas.
