Delhi’s Schengen visa hub moves: VFS Global shifts 18-country processing to KG Marg
VFS Global has announced that, effective 19 January 2026, its Visa Application Centre for Schengen-area countries in New Delhi will relocate to ‘VFS Global House’, 27 Kasturba Gandhi Marg, Connaught Place. The change comes just a week after the firm shifted UK, Ireland and Nordic visa processing to the same building, consolidating operations under one roof.

From the implementation date, Indian travellers seeking visas for Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Switzerland must book appointments at the new address; walk-ins or courier submissions to the old Shivaji Stadium Metro station site will be rejected.

The relocation aims to create a “one-stop mobility corridor” with expanded biometric booths, larger waiting areas, and premium lounges that target corporate travellers who value speed and comfort. According to VFS Global, capacity will increase by 30 percent, reducing appointment backlogs that plagued the 2025 holiday season.

Applicants seeking extra support during this transition can turn to VisaHQ, whose India portal (https://www.visahq.com/india/) offers end-to-end assistance with Schengen applications, including document verification, appointment booking at the new KG Marg centre, and real-time status alerts—saving both time and administrative headaches.

Travel managers should update employee travel policies and self-booking tools to reflect the new centre. Missed or late-redirected applications could delay business trips and jeopardise project timelines. HR teams are also advised to schedule visa appointments well before peak summer demand.

European chambers of commerce welcomed the upgrade, noting that smoother visa logistics support growing India-EU trade flows. However, consultants cautioned that stricter document scrutiny by certain consulates continues despite the more spacious premises, so applicants must still supply comprehensive supporting evidence.(traveltradejournal.com)
