Holiday task-force deploys 200 extra inspectors to keep 15 Brazilian airports moving

Holiday task-force deploys 200 extra inspectors to keep 15 Brazilian airports moving
With passenger volumes expected to jump 15 % over the Christmas–New Year period, Brazil’s Ministry of Ports and Airports has activated its annual “Operação Fim de Ano” from 19 December 2025 to 5 January 2026. The plan pools resources from regulator ANAC, airport-operator association ABR and airlines under ABEAR, covering 15 high-traffic hubs including Guarulhos, Brasília, Galeão, Recife and Salvador.

More than 200 additional ANAC inspectors are now monitoring check-in lines, security lanes and baggage systems from a new war-room dashboard that aggregates on-time-performance and passenger-complaint data in real time. Airlines have pre-positioned spare aircraft and pledged strict compliance with Resolution 400 compensation rules, while airports have opened pop-up service desks and launched WhatsApp delay alerts in English and Spanish—a first for Brazil.

Beyond airport logistics, travelers should confirm they have valid entry documents. VisaHQ’s online portal streamlines the process of securing Brazil e-Visas or consular visas, offers real-time status tracking and bulk tools for corporate travel managers, helping companies stay compliant before the holiday rush. For corporate travel, reinforced staffing should improve flow, but inspectors have been ordered to issue spot fines for overweight carry-ons and improper lithium-battery transport. Mobility advisers recommend arriving three hours before international departures, retaining receipts for any delay-related expenses, and ensuring e-Visas or physical visas are uploaded to mobile wallets for quick inspection.

The campaign is also a dress rehearsal for Carnival 2026, when traffic is forecast to break all-time records. Companies are urged to stress-test duty-of-care systems, update traveller contact data and brief employees on new queue-management procedures to avoid missed connections.
VisaHQ's expert visas and immigration team helps individuals and companies navigate global travel, work, and residency requirements. We handle document preparation, application filings, government agencies coordination, every aspect necessary to ensure fast, compliant, and stress-free approvals.
