German leisure carrier Condor will launch daily flights from Frankfurt and Berlin to Abu Dhabi under a new codeshare with Etihad Airways, beginning 1 May and 15 June 2026 respectively, the airlines announced on 9 December 2025.
The partnership will add 14 weekly frequencies into AUH, using Airbus A330s on the Frankfurt trunk route and A320s from Berlin. Passengers will earn Etihad Guest miles and enjoy through-ticketing to Etihad’s network across Asia-Pacific and Africa – a key selling point for German corporates with regional operations managed out of the UAE.
For the Emirates, the move strengthens Abu Dhabi’s position as a transfer hub just weeks after the opening of the new Midfield Terminal. Tourism officials project up to 220,000 incremental German visitors in the first full year, supporting both leisure and MICE segments.
Relocation managers will see wider seat inventory for assignees shuttling between German HQs and GCC projects, while air-freight capacity on the A330 wide-body service is expected to cut transit times for time-sensitive pharma and automotive components.
Travel buyers should watch for promotional fares during the soft-launch phase and review corporate agreements to ensure Condor-operated (DE) flight numbers are auto-routed into Etihad preferred-carrier policies.
