Salvador Bahia Airport, operated by Vinci Airports, unveiled its high-season timetable on Friday (5 December), forecasting the busiest summer since the concession began in 2018. Between 15 December 2025 and 31 January 2026 the gateway will offer 1.6 million seats—up 14 % year-on-year—driven by a sharp rebound in both domestic and international demand.
Domestic capacity will grow 13 % thanks to GOL’s decision to beef up Rio-de-Janeiro and São Paulo frequencies and make the Porto Seguro leisure route daily. Azul is adding seasonal flights to Ribeirão Preto, Uberlândia and São José do Rio Preto to capture corporate traffic from Brazil’s interior.
Internationally, seat supply jumps 31 %. Five legacy carriers will serve six foreign destinations, led by a newly launched Copa Airlines link to Panama City that opens one-stop connectivity to Central America and the Caribbean. Air France upgrades Paris to thrice-weekly wide-body service, while Flybondi increases Argentina capacity by 74 % across Buenos Aires and Córdoba markets—important for regional business clusters in food & beverage and renewable energy.
Airport commercial director Júlia Orrico said the terminal expects 36,000 passengers on 2 January alone, a new single-day record, adding that staffing levels have been increased by 20 % and all immigration booths will be manned during peak waves.
For companies relocating staff or organising project work in Bahia, the expanded network means better same-day connections and lower reliance on São Paulo hubs. Travel managers should, however, monitor price volatility: demand peaks are already pushing average fares 18 % higher than last summer, according to Amadeus data.
