Minutes after the new foreign-worker regulations took effect, county labour offices across Poland published reminders spelling out the higher fees and the restricted list of nationalities eligible for the declaration procedure. In Bielsk Podlaski, for example, officials stressed that declarations may now be filed only for citizens of Armenia, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine and that the fee for registering a declaration has risen to PLN 400.
The alerts clarify transitional rules for Georgian employees whose declarations were registered before 1 December: they may continue working until the document’s expiry without extra formalities. Employers are urged to budget for the new fees and to attach digital scans of passports, qualification proofs and payment confirmations when lodging declarations via praca.gov.pl.
Local offices also warned that inspections will focus on whether declarations were filed before the foreigner’s first working day, a common compliance pitfall. Businesses that rely on seasonal staff have been advised to check whether positions can still qualify for the faster declaration route or whether a full work permit is now required.
HR departments should circulate the county guidance to line managers, especially in agriculture and manufacturing hubs where spontaneous hiring is frequent.
