Students eyeing an academic stint abroad now have firm dates: on 30 November the University of Cádiz (UCA) published its Erasmus+ KA131 call covering the 2026/27 academic year. Applications remain open until 19 January 2026, offering undergraduates the choice of one-semester, two-semester or full-year exchanges at more than 120 partner universities.
The announcement comes as European institutions rush to allocate next cycle funds before Brussels finalises its post-2027 budget. UCA confirmed that monthly stipends will rise by 6 %—reflecting Spain’s higher cost-of-living index—while green-travel top-ups of €50–€250 remain in place for rail or coach journeys. Students with disabilities can apply for 100 % cost coverage.
From a mobility-management perspective, the earlier-than-usual call gives multinational employers in Andalusia a chance to align internship pipelines: companies can reserve fall 2026 trainee slots and co-sponsor double-Erasmus schemes that split time between academic study and on-site corporate projects.
UCA international-office staff emphasise that Spain’s new Digital Nomad Visa does not exempt non-EU students from obtaining residence permits; exchange participants from the UK, Latin America or Asia will still need a long-stay study visa, processing times for which currently average four weeks in Madrid and two in Barcelona.
The university has also tightened language requirements, demanding B2 certification in the primary instruction language, a nod to feedback from partner faculties about examination bottlenecks.
