TSA Launches Holiday ‘Families on the Fly’ Discount for PreCheck Enrollment

TSA Launches Holiday ‘Families on the Fly’ Discount for PreCheck Enrollment
To reduce security-line congestion during the peak holiday season, the Transportation Security Administration on November 28 unveiled a limited-time promotion that knocks US$15 off the enrollment fee for first-time TSA PreCheck applicants who sign up with at least one family member. Additional companions receive the same discount, meaning a family of six could save US$75.

The offer, which runs through December 31, 2025, is part of TSA’s “Families on the Fly” campaign aimed at alleviating record Thanksgiving wait times that topped 2.9 million passengers per day. Children under 12 already accompany PreCheck-enrolled parents for free, but the agency wants more teenagers and extended-family travellers vetted and enrolled ahead of the Christmas surge.

For global mobility teams, the discount presents a low-cost perk for assignees arriving in the United States. Employers that reimburse the standard US$85 five-year fee can now do so at a reduced rate, making bulk enrollment drives more cost-effective. The promotion is available through all enrollment providers, including Idemia and Telos, and applies to both in-person and mobile pop-up centers at major airports.

TSA says PreCheck membership has surpassed 20 million, with average dedicated-lane wait times under five minutes. The agency is also piloting facial authentication checkpoints at 25 airports, enabling PreCheck members to keep their physical IDs in their pockets.

Travellers who cannot finalize an interview before the deadline may still complete fingerprinting in early 2026 as long as they submit the application and payment by December 31.
