Brazil on Track to Hit 9 Million Visitors in 2025, Says AltexSoft Industry Brief
Technology-consultancy AltexSoft’s latest Travel Industry News brief corroborates Brazil’s tourism surge, noting 7.09 million arrivals in the first nine months of 2025—45 percent more than the same period in 2024. September alone accounted for 570 934 arrivals, and Rio de Janeiro captured 1.2 million foreign tourists in H1 2025, up 52 percent year-on-year.

International visitors injected a record US $6.6 billion into the economy between January and September, up 10.19 percent from 2024. AltexSoft—citing Embratur forecasts—projects the country will end 2025 with more than 9 million arrivals, eclipsing the previous 2019 record of 6.4 million.

The consultancy attributes the outperformance to expanded flight routes, visa-policy certainty (including Brazil’s e-Visa portal for U.S., Canadian and Australian travelers) and global events such as COP30. For corporate mobility programs, the rise means intensified competition for premium-cabin seats and hotel space during peak seasons, prompting many firms to sign dynamic-pricing agreements rather than fixed-rate allotments.

AltexSoft also contrasts Brazil’s momentum with weakness in the U.S. inbound market, which saw a 3 percent year-on-year decline in October 2025. The divergence highlights Brazil’s growing strategic importance as a Latin-American hub for multinationals looking to base regional project teams in time-zone alignment with North America.

Sustaining growth will depend on infrastructure roll-outs already in the pipeline: São Paulo/Guarulhos’ Terminal 4 expansion, Belo Horizonte’s rail-link upgrade and a new biometric-immigration platform scheduled for Rio/Galeão by mid-2026.
