Pilots’ union schedules 26 November livestream on new collective-bargaining proposal at Omni Táxi Aéreo

Pilots’ union schedules 26 November livestream on new collective-bargaining proposal at Omni Táxi Aéreo
The National Aeronauts Union (SNA) will host a YouTube livestream at 16:30 BRT on 26 November to present management’s latest proposal for a new Acordo Coletivo de Trabalho (ACT) covering flight crews at Omni Táxi Aéreo, Brazil’s leading offshore-helicopter operator. Non-union pilots have until noon on 27 November to join the union and gain voting rights, with electronic balloting set for 28 November.

Omni, which serves energy majors in the pre-salt basin, employs nearly 500 cockpit and cabin personnel. Key negotiation points include a 6.8 % salary adjustment linked to inflation, per-diem increases for night shifts at offshore platforms, and an expansion of mental-health support after a spike in fatigue-related leave earlier this year.

The outcome matters beyond the rotary-wing sector. Fixed-wing carriers often benchmark offshore agreements when setting allowances for technicians dispatched to remote airfields and FPSO vessels. A higher flight-hour ceiling or richer overtime multipliers could ripple through corporate-aviation budgets in Brazil’s oil and gas industry.

Travel-risk teams should monitor the vote: a rejection could trigger a strike notice with 72-hour lead time under Brazilian labour law, potentially disrupting crew-change flights to rigs operated by Petrobras, Shell and Equinor. Clients are advised to map critical missions, pre-identify alternative operators and brief expatriate engineers on contingency rotation plans.

SNA encourages pilots to submit questions in advance and will publish a redline comparison of the draft ACT immediately after the livestream to ensure transparency.
