Bahia’s tourism board (Setur-BA) confirmed on 22 November that Azul Linhas Aéreas will operate 880 additional flights between 13 December 2025 and 1 February 2026 to meet soaring summer demand. The temporary programme injects 132,000 seats into the network, a 26 % hike over baseline operations.
Salvador claims the lion’s share with 432 new rotations, while popular leisure hotspots Porto Seguro and Ilhéus gain 300 and 148 flights respectively. Services originate from São Paulo’s three main airports, Belo Horizonte/Confins, Goiânia and other interior markets, reflecting Azul’s “connect interior Brazil” strategy.
The expansion matters for mobility teams relocating staff to Bahia’s petrochemical cluster and to the growing tech hub around Salvador’s Parque TecnoBahia. More capacity translates into lower last-minute fares and better availability of the airline’s corporate TudoAzul Business product that bundles free baggage and lounge access.
Azul Viagens, the carrier’s tour-operating arm, will run 69 weekly charter legs layered on top of the scheduled uplift—useful for corporates arranging group movements or incentive trips. Setur-BA projects the extra flights will inject R$ 210 million in direct visitor spending and cement Bahia’s post-pandemic tourism recovery.
