InvestPro India conference spotlights citizenship-by-investment options amid rupee volatility
On 4 November, international advisory firm Bosco Conference hosted its first Mumbai edition of InvestPro India at the St Regis hotel, drawing private-banking clients, wealth planners and immigration lawyers from 23 countries. The one-day forum reviewed residence-and-citizenship programmes in the Caribbean, Europe and the Middle East, with a special focus on asset-protection structures and tax planning for Indian HNWIs.

Presentations highlighted the Dominican and Grenadian CBI routes as the fastest pathways to visa-free Schengen access, while panelists from Portugal and Greece discussed the future of their respective golden-visa schemes after recent legislative tightening. Attendees also heard case studies on India’s outbound mobility trends, including a 40 per cent year-on-year jump in applications for the UAE’s 10-year Golden Visa.

According to organisers, interest surged after the rupee hit a record low of ₹84.10 against the U.S. dollar in October, prompting wealthy families to diversify travel freedom and estate-planning options. Several Caribbean CBI units offered event-exclusive legal-fee waivers, underlining the intense competition for Indian applicants.

While citizenship-by-investment remains controversial, speakers stressed that growing numbers of Indian entrepreneurs see a "portfolio passport" as a hedge against geopolitical risk and an enabler of easier global business travel.
