France to hire 500 extra staff to clear residency-card backlog
Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez has unveiled a plan to recruit 500 temporary staff—boosting prefecture capacity by roughly 20 %—to cut residency-card processing times that now stretch to six months or more. The push also extends biometric validity to 10 years and tackles glitches on the France-Visas portal.
