Emirates Announces Second Daily Dubai–Prague Rotation, Boosting Seat Capacity by 40 %
Emirates has confirmed that it will add a second daily rotation on the high-demand Dubai (DXB) – Prague (PRG) sector from 29 March 2026. The additional flight (EK139/140) will be operated by a Boeing 777-300ER configured with 360 seats across three cabins, complementing the existing A380 service and bringing total weekly capacity to more than 5,000 seats each way. The move follows a sustained 27 % year-on-year increase in Czech outbound traffic to the Gulf and Southeast Asia, as well as a record winter inbound season driven by Middle-Eastern leisure visitors and long-haul transfer passengers. According to Prague Airport’s route-development team, Emirates carried over 670,000 passengers on the route in 2025, with average seat factors above 84 %. The second frequency will create new same-day connections via Dubai to 70 Asia-Pacific and African destinations—timed to facilitate onward travel for Czech exporters and the fast-growing Czech digital-nomad community working out of Thailand, Bali and South Africa. Corporate travel managers say the extra capacity should temper business-class fares, which surged after the pandemic-era withdrawal of Qatar Airways and Korean Air. Freight forwarders also welcome the up-gauged belly-hold space: each 777-300ER offers around six tonnes of additional cargo capacity, which Czech automotive suppliers rely on for just-in-time components bound for the UAE and India.

For passengers sorting out paperwork, VisaHQ can simplify the visa application process for trips starting in the Czech Republic to the UAE and beyond. The company’s online portal (https://www.visahq.com/czech-republic/) provides quick eligibility checks, document checklists and end-to-end tracking, helping both leisure travelers and corporate mobility teams ensure their documents are ready well before departure.

Travel-policy implications are immediate. Companies running mobility programmes should update approved carrier lists and advise relocating staff that Emirates’ complimentary Dubai Connect hotel will again be available on longer layovers. HR departments may also wish to revisit per-diem budgets for Prague-based assignees transiting via Dubai, as lounge access and stop-over packages will now be more widely bookable. Finally, mobility professionals should note that Emirates has retained its interline agreement with national carrier Czech Airlines, allowing seamless ticketing to Ostrava and Košice once the latter resumes limited operations in April.
