Prague Airport wins global customer-experience award, boosting hub’s appeal for business travellers
Václav Havel Airport Prague has been named a 2025 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award winner for overall passenger satisfaction in the 15–25 million-passenger category, airport operator Letiště Praha announced on March 8. The accolade, granted by Airports Council International and Amadeus, is based on more than 600,000 traveller surveys worldwide and places Prague alongside peers such as Copenhagen and Zurich.

Airport CEO Jiří Pos recently outlined a CZK 1.2 billion investment plan that includes biometric boarding gates, faster security lanes and the summer closure of runway 06/24 for resurfacing. Winning the ASQ award helps reassure airlines and corporate travel buyers that the upcoming works will not erode service quality. “The recognition shows we can modernise infrastructure and still keep queues short,” marketing director Eva Krejčí said at the press briefing.

For international assignees arriving in Czechia, the award signals tangible upgrades: average wait times at passport control fell to seven minutes last year, while new multilingual signage and a ride-hailing zone at Terminal 2 reduce onward-transfer friction. Duty-free operator Lagardère plans to add a premium ‘Czech Makers’ concept store spotlighting local design brands—an extra perk for relocating executives hunting for last-minute gifts.

If your travelers still need entry clearance, VisaHQ can simplify the process by handling Czech visa applications, renewals, and supporting documents through a single online dashboard—complete with real-time status alerts and courier pickup options. Explore the service at https://www.visahq.com/czech-republic/ to keep mobility plans on track even as airport operations shift during the runway works.

Mobility teams should nonetheless plan for possible gate changes and longer taxi-times once the main runway closes on 30 March for a four-and-a-half-month refurbishment. The airport will route traffic to secondary runway 12/30, and slot availability for charter flights will tighten. Travel managers are advised to book spring and summer rotations early and to leverage fast-track security vouchers, which the airport has confirmed will remain valid during the works.
