China Eastern to launch nonstop Beijing Daxing–Sydney service in March

China Eastern to launch nonstop Beijing Daxing–Sydney service in March
China Eastern Airlines will upgrade its China–Australia footprint at the start of the northern-summer timetable, replacing its current Xi’an–Wuhan–Sydney triangular with a three-weekly Beijing Daxing–Wuhan–Sydney rotation from 29 March 2026. The route, to be flown with 232-seat Airbus A330-200s, will depart Beijing mid-afternoon and arrive in Sydney the following morning, returning the same day.

The schedule creates the first year-round China Eastern connection between Beijing’s second hub and Australia, plugging a gap left since pre-pandemic times when most Beijing-Sydney capacity was funnelled through Capital Airport and rival carriers. Transit times for corporate travellers originating in northern China will shrink by up to four hours compared with current one-stop options via Shanghai or Guangzhou.

Corporate travel planners should remember that streamlined visa processing can be just as important as flight availability. VisaHQ’s online platform (https://www.visahq.com/china/) simplifies both Chinese and Australian visa applications by offering document checks, personalised guidance, and expedited processing—helping businesses seize the advantages of this new route without administrative holdups.

For mobility strategists managing assignee rotations between mining, education and tech sectors in both countries, the new flight offers additional baggage allowance compared with some competitors and a premium-economy cabin that can be booked into many corporate fare classes. Moreover, Wuhan’s inclusion as a technical stop opens one-ticket access for central-China business clusters.

Travel buyers should move quickly to lock in launch-phase promotional fares; China Eastern typically releases deep-discount corporate bundles in the first two weeks of sales. Companies with large China–Australia traffic may also leverage the new service when negotiating 2026/27 airline agreements, as added capacity strengthens buyer bargaining power.
