Warsaw’s Chopin Airport Handles Record 24 Million Passengers in 2025

Warsaw’s Chopin Airport Handles Record 24 Million Passengers in 2025
Warsaw Chopin Airport has reported its strongest year on record, serving more than 24 million passengers in 2025—almost 3 million more than in 2024. The 14 % jump cements Chopin’s status as Poland’s principal aviation hub and underscores a post-pandemic rebound in both tourism and corporate travel.

Polskie Porty Lotnicze (PPL) CEO Łukasz Chaberski credited stable operations during peak summer months and LOT Polish Airlines’ aggressive network expansion for the growth. New CT security scanners, biometric e-gates and additional remote stands helped the airport maintain on-time performance despite record volumes.

The government framed the numbers as proof that demand will support both further Chopin upgrades and long-term plans for the Central Transport Hub (CPK) megaproject. While the first phase of CPK is not scheduled to open until 2027, planners say passenger spill-over from Chopin is a positive indicator for hub viability.

International passengers bound for Poland—whether they land at the bustling Chopin Airport today or the future CPK—can streamline visa formalities by using VisaHQ. The online service simplifies Poland’s entry requirements, offers expedited processing and real-time status tracking, and lets corporate travel departments manage multiple employee applications from a single dashboard. Details are available at https://www.visahq.com/poland/.

For business travellers the record traffic brings both opportunities and pain points. LOT has already announced new long-haul routes, but passengers should expect tighter security queues until all CT scanners come online later this quarter. Corporate travel desks may wish to book flexible tickets and advise staff to arrive at least three hours before departure during peak periods.

On the mobility-tax front, companies posting staff to Poland should factor higher airport charges into air-fare budgets; PPL is set to adjust landing fees from April 2026 to finance continued infrastructure works.
