In a bid to stimulate winter bookings, Austrian Airlines rolled out its annual Black-Friday promotion on 27 November, offering €50 off Economy-Class return fares from Vienna to North America. The sale runs until 3 December 2025 for travel between 12 January and 31 May 2026.
The discount applies across the Lufthansa Group distribution channels but not to Light-tariff tickets that exclude checked baggage. Corporate contracts are excluded, yet individual business travellers reimbursing tickets through expense systems can still benefit if policy allows.
With corporate travel spend recovering only slowly, fare sales provide cost-saving opportunities for project teams and assignees who need to schedule home-leave trips. However, travel managers should weigh the tighter change-fee rules attached to promotional inventories.
The sale coincides with Austrian’s decision to redeploy spare winter capacity to a five-weekly Vienna–Dubai service and reflects the carrier’s strategy of balancing leisure demand with premium-cabin upsell opportunities.
Employees planning North-American assignments in early 2026 should lock in flights quickly, as the cheapest buckets are capacity-controlled and may sell out before the formal end of the promotion.
