UAE launches “From the UAE, We Travel” campaign to prepare residents for record-high winter travel

UAE launches “From the UAE, We Travel” campaign to prepare residents for record-high winter travel
The UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has kicked off a nationwide travel-readiness drive as the country counts down to a 27-day school break (December 8 – January 4) that is expected to trigger the busiest outbound season since the pandemic. Branded “From the UAE, We Travel,” the campaign bundles practical advice, real-time alerts and a revamped suite of digital consular services into one umbrella initiative aimed at the estimated 1.7 million residents who will travel abroad over the next six weeks.

Officials said the timing is deliberate: UAE National Day (December 2), Christmas and New Year’s holidays fall within the break, creating a ‘super-peak’ that has already pushed December air-ticket bookings up 35 per cent year-on-year. To head off common pain points, MoFA is urging travellers to check that passports carry at least six months’ validity, verify visa rules for each destination and purchase international health insurance that covers the full trip. The ministry’s smart-phone app now offers push notifications on entry-rule changes, geopolitical risks and severe weather, while the “Twajudi” voluntary registration platform has been upgraded to allow family groups to share a single profile.

Behind the public-facing tips sits an expanded consular backbone. MoFA says its 24/7 Contact Centre can now route calls in 11 languages and has doubled crisis-response staffing for the rest of the year. A new AI-driven triage tool categorises enquiries by urgency and directs callers to self-service options—such as requesting an emergency travel document—before escalating to a live agent. According to Under-Secretary Omar Obaid Al Shamsi, the goal is to slash average resolution time for routine cases to under 15 minutes.

For corporate mobility managers, the campaign offers two immediate benefits. First, MoFA is publishing machine-readable travel-advisory feeds that can be plugged directly into duty-of-care dashboards, allowing employers to cross-reference employee itineraries with dynamic risk scores. Second, the ministry has opened a fast-track verification lane for UAE-issued corporate powers-of-attorney so that staff travelling on company business can legalise documents in under 24 hours.

Travel-sector analysts say the initiative reinforces the UAE’s ambition to position itself as a global mobility hub whose citizens and residents can cross borders with minimal friction. By centralising travel guidance and digitising support, the campaign should reduce last-minute airport snags, safeguard brand UAE’s reputation abroad and free consular officers to focus on complex emergencies rather than routine paperwork.
