International Mobility Days 2025 Draws 1,000 Delegates to Vienna
Advantage Austria threw open the doors of the Wirtschaftskammer on 20 November for International Mobility Days 2025 (IMD25), Central Europe’s largest B2B forum for travel and transport innovation. More than 1,000 delegates from 60 countries packed the keynote by EY-Parthenon’s Werner Hoffmann on strategic foresight, while an exhibition hall showcased Austrian scale-ups ranging from Doppelmayr cableways to ams OSRAM LiDAR sensors.

The biennial event has become a magnet for corporate mobility managers looking to source pilot projects that meet tough decarbonisation targets. Organisers report 1,700 pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings via the matchmaking app—evidence that in-person networking is rebounding after the pandemic lull.

Logistics panels focused on hydrogen rail, sustainable aviation fuel and the looming impact of the EU’s Entry/Exit System on passenger flows. Vienna International Airport set up an on-site biometric enrolment kiosk, while the Foreign Ministry ran a “visa help desk” to fast-track invitation letters for non-EU participants needing Schengen extensions.

For Austrian exporters the stakes are high: the 2023 edition generated 240 concrete project leads worth tens of millions of euros. Hoteliers reported near-full occupancy around Vienna’s 4th district, and ÖBB added extra Railjet services to Wien-Hbf. Delegates were advised to arrive early at the airport to navigate new EES kiosks. IMD25 closed on the evening of 21 November with the Austrian Mobility Night networking reception.

The take-away for corporations is clear: Vienna is positioning itself as the region’s hub for future travel tech, offering a one-stop shop for partnerships that straddle mobility, energy and digital identity.
