On 18 November 2025, LATAM Airlines confirmed that it will inaugurate a São Paulo/Guarulhos–Uberaba route on 5 January 2026, using 174-seat Airbus A320 aircraft three times per week. The announcement follows a partnership between the carrier and Invest Minas, the state’s investment-promotion agency, which has prioritised better air links to interior cities with agribusiness clusters and pharma plants.
For corporate-mobility managers the new service is significant: Uberaba hosts major facilities of Mosaic Fertilizantes, Vale Fertilizantes and Pfizer’s veterinary-medicine unit. Until now executives have had to connect via Belo Horizonte or undertake a four-hour road journey from Ribeirão Preto. Point-to-point flying cuts door-to-door travel times by up to 50 %, enabling same-day trips and lowering accommodation costs.
The Minas Gerais government said the route is part of a wider plan to reach 63 Brazilian airports by 2026 and to position Confins and Guarulhos as dual hubs feeding smaller cities. LATAM hinted that additional domestic launches—Caldas Novas (GO) and Campina Grande (PB)—will follow, creating new weekend-commuting possibilities for project-based assignees.
Employers sending staff to Uberaba should verify availability of CRECI-compliant rental housing and update travel-risk assessments: Uberaba airport offers limited late-night ground transport and no on-site Federal Police post, so corporate security may need meet-and-greet services for high-profile travellers.
