Aviation Industry Urges Brussels to Relax Schengen Entry/Exit System Before Summer Peak
In a joint letter circulated over the weekend, ACI EUROPE, A4E and IATA urge the European Commission to let Schengen states—including Switzerland—temporarily relax mandatory biometric enrolment targets under the new Entry/Exit System. Without extra flexibility, airports warn that border waits could hit four hours in July and August, forcing schedule changes and complicating business-travel planning.
