EU Unveils 5-Year Migration & Visa Strategy—Key Priorities for Cyprus’ EU Presidency
The European Commission has published a five-year Migration & Visa Strategy (29 Jan 2026) that Cyprus must shepherd during its EU Council Presidency. Priorities include full implementation of the Migration Pact, new digital border systems (ETIAS/EES), a common EU returns framework, and talent-attraction measures. The roadmap will shape Cyprus’ push for Schengen entry and will gradually change how business travellers are screened and how companies secure EU visas.
