Brazil’s civil-aviation regulator has barred São Paulo/Guarulhos Airport from adding any new flight frequencies until it fixes taxi-lane markings, apron lighting and stand-guidance faults detected during a recent inspection. The 60-day freeze limits airlines’ capacity growth on key international and domestic routes, raising the risk of higher fares and longer connection times for business travellers and relocating staff. Once the airport remedies the issues, ANAC will consider lifting the cap.
