German Federal Police step up Baltic Sea patrols to check ‘shadow-fleet’ tankers
Germany has deployed additional police cutters in the Baltic Sea to inspect tankers suspected of circumventing sanctions via a ‘shadow fleet’. Although passenger ferries are not targeted, crews and contractors joining ships in German ports should expect document checks and potential delays.
