Flanders slashes shortage-occupation list, tightening work-permit fast track from 1 January

From 1 January 2026 Flanders will cut many low-skilled roles from its shortage-occupation list, meaning non-EU hires for those jobs must undergo a full labour-market test and longer single-permit process. Renewals filed before year-end are unaffected. Companies relying on drivers or other removed roles face four-to-six-week processing delays and should act now.
