Flights resume as Finavia reopens Kittilä, Ivalo and Rovaniemi; minor restrictions lifted at Helsinki Airport
Finavia fully reopened Lapland’s three main airports overnight, and by 09:00 on 28 December flight schedules and passenger flows were largely back to normal. Helsinki Airport lifted minor wind-related restrictions before the morning peak. While rapid recovery underscores improved snow-clearance capacity, airlines still face millions in compensation claims, and travel managers are urged to keep contingency plans active.
