France raises voluntary-return cash for Channel-crossing migrants in targeted policy tweak
A decree published on 4 December raises OFII voluntary-return payments to up to €3,500 for migrants ordered to leave France after Channel crossings, aiming to make assisted return more attractive and reduce irregular flows. The higher ceiling also covers readmitted migrants under an August 2025 UK-France accord.
