Surge in Small-Boat Crossings: 500 Migrants Reach Canary Islands in a Single Day
Spanish rescue services brought 487 migrants to El Hierro and Tenerife within 24 hours on 27 November, the largest one-day total since August. Although overall Canary Islands arrivals are down 63 % this year, the surge is pressuring reception capacity and could slow other immigration-processing queues, affecting employers and travellers.
