Finnair announced on 21 November that it will relaunch non-stop flights from Helsinki to Krabi, Thailand, starting 30 November 2026 and running through 25 March 2027. The leisure-focused route, suspended since the pandemic in 2020, will initially operate twice weekly using Airbus A350-900 aircraft, offering 297 seats including a revamped Premium Economy cabin.
Outbound flights will depart Helsinki on Mondays and Thursdays, returning from Krabi on Tuesdays and Fridays. The 11-hour south-bound segment and 12-hour 45-minute north-bound leg will give Nordic travellers a direct gateway to Thailand’s Andaman coast and onward connections to the Phi Phi Islands and Phang Nga Bay.
For corporate mobility teams the reinstated link matters because many international assignees based in Finland add regional travel to year-end home leave. Direct flights reduce duty-of-care exposure by eliminating Bangkok transfers and shorten total journey time by up to four hours. Finnair is also positioning Helsinki as a one-stop hub for North American passengers heading to southern Thailand; Krabi flights will connect smoothly with evening arrivals from New York and Dallas.
The announcement follows Finnair’s November Capital Markets Day, where management mapped out growth targets to 2029. Leisure routes leveraging Finland’s geographic position are a pillar of the strategy, balancing long-haul Asian demand with tourism-driven capacity during the Nordic winter. Companies should update travel policies and traveller-tracking tools ahead of the 2026 season.
