OUIGO Brussels–Paris trains diverted this weekend; no stop in Mons

OUIGO Brussels–Paris trains diverted this weekend; no stop in Mons
Low-cost operator OUIGO has warned that all Brussels–Paris services on 15–16 November are being rerouted via Jeumont and Maubeuge because of engineering works between Mons and Quévy. The detour adds up to 35 minutes to journey times and eliminates the usual intermediate stop in Mons, a hub for Hainaut-based commuters and multinational staff posted to Google’s nearby data-centre expansion.

Passengers holding tickets to or from Mons have three options: accept automatic rebooking on standard SNCB services, travel to Brussels-Midi and connect to OUIGO there, or request a full refund. OUIGO says seat reservations remain valid, but onboard trolley service will be limited because of the longer operating window.

Travel-management companies are recommending that Belgian executives attending Monday-morning meetings in Paris travel Sunday evening or switch to Eurostar, which is unaffected. HR teams should note that the diversion crosses the France-Belgium land border at Jeumont, so non-EU staff must carry passports and Belgian residence cards even though the journey remains inside the Schengen Area.

The works are part of Infrabel’s wider upgrade of the Bruxelles-Quévy-Paris axis, scheduled to deliver higher speeds and ETCS-level-2 signalling by 2027. Further weekend closures are pencilled in for January and March, meaning mobility planners should expect similar diversions in Q1 2026.

OUIGO expects normal routing and Mons stops to resume with the first service on Monday, 17 November at 06:34.
