Route-development news published on 12 November confirms that Lufthansa Group subsidiary Eurowings will resume a direct link between Brindisi (BDS) and Prague (PRG) from 3 June 2026, operating every Wednesday throughout the northern-summer season. Although the flights start next year, the timetable has immediate implications for corporate travel planners drafting 2026 mobility budgets and assignment calendars.
The Brindisi–Prague sector disappeared during COVID, forcing travellers to connect via Rome or Milan and adding three to five hours to door-to-door itineraries. The reinstated A320 service will cut block time to about 1 hour 50 minutes, providing a same-day option for tech suppliers in South-Italy’s aerospace cluster and for Czech engineering firms active in Puglia’s renewable-energy projects. Václav Havel Airport says the route will also strengthen Prague’s role as a Central-European hub, offering onward Star Alliance connections to Seoul, Toronto and the Gulf.
From a mobility-compliance perspective, the restart means Italian assignees posted to Czechia can now complete quarterly business-trip rotations without overnight stays, staying within the 90/180-day Schengen rule and reducing the need for Czech short-term work notification. Employers should still monitor the EU’s new Entry/Exit System, which began roll-out on 12 October 2025—delays at external borders could feed through to tight one-day itineraries.
Fares have not yet been published, but Eurowings typically opens sales six months ahead of launch; corporate travel teams should set up automatic fare alerts now to lock in inventory when the service goes live in December. Cargo capacity (two LD3 positions per flight) will be welcome news for time-sensitive medical-device exporters that currently truck shipments from Puglia to Rome.
