Cyprus EU Presidency secures direct Larnaca–Brussels flights under €4.7 million PSO deal
Cyprus has awarded Aegean Airlines a €4.7 million Public Service Obligation contract to run nonstop flights between Larnaca and Brussels for one year, starting December 2025. The route is designed to handle the surge in official travel when Cyprus holds the EU Council Presidency in 1H 2026 and will later support broader business and expatriate mobility. Faster access to the EU capital is expected to benefit corporate travellers, government delegates and the island’s growing expatriate community.
