Switzerland Moves to Ratify Double-Taxation Treaty with Zimbabwe, Easing Expatriate Assignments
The Federal Council approved the dispatch on a revised double-taxation agreement with Zimbabwe on 5 November 2025. The new treaty cuts dividend, interest and royalty withholding, adopts OECD standards on information exchange, and extends dispute-resolution timelines. Swiss companies will see lower gross-up costs and simpler payroll compliance for staff stationed in Zimbabwe, while Zimbabwean multinationals gain the same advantages in Switzerland.
