Sharjah International Book Fair 2025 opens, drawing 2,350 publishers from 118 countries
Sharjah opened the 44th International Book Fair on 5 November 2025, hosting 2,350 publishers from 118 countries and more than 1,200 events. Sharjah used the opening day of SIBF to unveil the first 44 volumes of a landmark Arabic encyclopedia, a move that will attract dozens of foreign linguists and cultural experts on new Cultural-Talent visas. The project highlights how targeted visa classes underpin the UAE’s knowledge-economy agenda and generate recurring inbound mobility for at least the next three years.
