When you plan to travel to the Netherlands, you need to apply for a visa and have to submit your application form with some travel document to get your visa. Here is the list of travel document that you may require when applying for a visa to the Netherlands.

  • Visa application form. Fully completed and signed application form.

  • Valid passport. The passport must be valid at least 6 months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the destination country and has at least 2 blank visa pages.

  • Old passport(s). If you are in possession of one or more previous passports, it is mandatory to bring all of them.

  • Proof of legal residence. Copy of driver's license, state issued ID, or major utility bill (Water, Gas, Electric, Sewage) for the most recent month, showing the applicant's name and current address.

  • Medical Insurance. Proof of group travel, hotel reservations, or airline reservations.

  • Original or notarized bank statements. An original or notarized copy of the applicant's most recent monthly bank statement showing proof of sufficient funds. The statement must clearly show the applicant's name as the account holder, the balances of the accounts, and the date of the statement.

  • Proof of Employment. A letter from your employer stating your current employment status or an employment contract.

Supporting Documents Required

You might also need to provide some additional documents when applying for a valid Schengen visa. These may include certain business documents such as business permit, DTI or SEC Registration with general information sheet. Depending on your visa category, whether it is an airport transit visa, short term visa, or long term visa, etc.

You might have to submit am income tax return employed (ITR 2316) or self employed (ITR 1701). However, if you do not have either of these then submit an explanation letter to the Embassy of the Netherlands in your country. Moreover, you might have to submit your application form along with marriage and birth certificates, if applicable.
