Vietnam business visa without sponsor

Did you know it is possible to obtain a Vietnam business visa without a sponsor? This may seem shocking, but it is possible, and many visitors enter the Southeast Asian country every year without one. Any business professional, trader, or investor who must enter Vietnam must do so with a business visa. Business visas are short-term visas issued to foreign nationals who do not qualify for visa-free entry.

With a business visa, you can enter the country to attend meetings and negotiations, sign contracts, or for any other business-related reasons, but you cannot work with this visa. Business visas do not qualify holders for work permits, so working with this Vietnam visa is a violation.

The Vietnam business visa is valid for one year and may be issued for a single or multiple entry visa. Holders for this visa can stay in the country for 14-90 days, depending on the maximum number of days the embassy allows. Those who wish to stay for more than 90 days must apply for a work permit.

Vietnam Business Visa Without Sponsor

The standard practice for any foreigner coming to Vietnam on business is to have a sponsor. The role of the sponsor is to guarantee that they are coming into the country for the reason they claim and that they will be responsible for their expenses and activities in Vietnam. Sponsors are also expected to send a signed letter printed on a letter headed paper explaining the reasons for the trip. The letter must also contain the sponsor’s information in Vietnam.

However, there are situations where the visitor may not require a sponsor to visit Vietnam. A sponsor is not required if

  • The visitor comes to Vietnam on business

  • The visitor owns and runs a business in Vietnam

  • The visitor is an investor coming to explore economic opportunities for investment

  • The visitor is self-employed

There are a few more reasons why a sponsor may not be required, but these points are the most common ones.

What Is The Business Visa Application Fee?

The visa application fee for a business visa depends on the business visa you are applying for. Expect you to pay between $25 -$135 for the application fee. Single-entry visas for one month are less expensive than multiple-entry visas for the same period, and multiple-entry visas for 12 months are the most expensive.

The application fee for e-visas is $25, but note that the fee will depend on the country you are applying from. Visa fees are not refundable and do not guarantee that you will be issued the visa at the end of the day but paying it is mandatory.

You can apply for a Vietnam business visa without a sponsor but only under special conditions.
