Traveling To Greece
Anyone who has been to Greece before will tell you that it is a country blessed with good weather and rich history. Greece is called the cradle of Western civilization and the foundation of modern democracy. These reasons and more are why many tourists from different parts of the globe visit the country to learn about its history and to view historic artifacts and sights that they could only read in books. There are breathtaking beaches and resorts at Santorini, while Athens is a center of culture and learning. If you enjoy that nightlife, a trip to Mykonos and Corfu is something you will find quite thrilling.
In peak years, the number of visitors that come to greet exceeds 30 million, making it one of the most visited countries in the world.
What is The Greek Tourist Visa?
This visa is a special travel permit issued to citizens of non European Union countries, non-Schengen countries, or those from countries who are not on the visa waiver list. The tourist visa is also called a Schengen tourist visa because Greece is a member of the Schengen region and operates a similar immigration policy with other Schengen states.
This visa is not for those who are from the EU, Schengen states, US, and UK, as they are allowed to visit and stay in the country for up to 90 days without a visa.
How Much Is The Greece Tourist Visa Fee?
The average application fee for this visa is €80, but the form for minors costs €40. Do note that this fee is not static but subject to change.
Tourist Visa Processing Time
Online applications take a few working days to process. You may have to wait up to 7 working days to get your visa, but for embassy applications, you may wait for up to 15 working days. During peak periods, processing may take up to 30 days or more. To avoid delays, applicants are advised to apply for the visa at least 1 month before their trip if they are applying at the embassy in person. They are also advised to ensure they only provide accurate information in tier applications and submit valid documents.
