Emirates to add fifth daily Dubai–Cairo rotation, making Egypt its most-served African destination

Emirates will upgrade its Dubai–Cairo schedule to five daily flights from 1 December 2025, scaling to a full daily rotation on 1 February 2026. The announcement, made on 3 November, means Cairo will overtake Johannesburg to become the most-served city in the airline’s African network, with more than 5,000 weekly seats each way once the additional Boeing 777 frequency is live.

The new flight is timed to connect with late-evening banks to Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Sydney and Manila, giving Egyptian corporates and multinationals shorter two-stop options to Asia–Pacific markets. For UAE-based firms operating in North Africa, the extra capacity eases peak-season seat shortages and offers greater flexibility for short-notice project travel.

Tour operators and destination management companies also expect a boost: Dubai inbound arrivals from Egypt jumped 36 % in the first nine months of 2025, according to DTCM data, driven by Expo City events and medical tourism.

Cargo planners note that the up-gauged schedule will add roughly 60 tonnes of lower-deck capacity per day, supporting perishables and pharma flows into the UAE and onwards to the Far East.

Emirates said the decision reflects “40 years of continuous service to Egypt” and aligns with Cairo Airport’s new Terminal 4 concessions, which are geared toward fast-track transfer processing for premium passengers – another win for time-sensitive business travellers.
